What drew you to Booost Education?
It excited me, and it was a job that makes a difference, even in small ways. Booost and Luna are the kind of thing people usually end up building for themselves out of tape and workarounds, just to keep functioning. Students being able to just have them, instead of inventing from scratch first, is the bit I wanted to be part of.

When did you know you wanted to work in your field?
I didn't, for a long time. I started my tech career in ops and kept leaning towards the customer side until I gave in and admitted I loved it. Fourteen years of retail and running my own business before that, so I'm no stranger to fires, chaos or conflict. Turns out that's most of the job, and I'd been training for it the whole time without noticing.

South Wales. I'm Russian, though everyone assumes American – I've got that classic international-kid, learned-English-from-the-television thing going on.

What does your perfect weekend look like?
run, non-negotiable. DIY if we're feeling motivated, which is a big if. A proper nature walk with Pepper and Midnight, a roast, and hopefully Arsenal on. Then unwinding, which mostly means a very long shower with R&B playing.

Egypt as a child. Seeing the pyramids for the first time and living out every Lara Croft fantasy I had.
